Maps and Nework Atlas error: Status of some child objects is unknown

Updated June 16, 2017

When hovering over a node in Maps and Network Atlas after upgrading to NPM 12, the following message is displayed with a gray LED beside the green LED, even when there are no child objects and dependencies assigned to the node:

Status of some child objects is unknown

Other nodes with same make and model show the green LED without the gray LED.

NPM 12

Some resources on the node are selected for monitoring with the custom node poller but there is no custom node poller assigned to the interfaces.

  1. Expand the affected node in Network Atlas and verify that the interface exists in the custom node poller with a gray icon.
  2. Go to Manage nodes and search for the node.
  3. Perform List Resources and clear the interface.
