Manage Dependencies page is blank

Updated October 23, 3018

The Manage Dependencies page does not display any dependencies, even though the Group By column indicates that dependencies exist.

When you check the OrionWeb.log file, the log displays the following errors:

ERROR SolarWinds.Orion.Core.Common.SwisEntityHelper - (null)
Unknown entity 'UNKNOWN'
ERROR DependenciesTree - (null) Exception in BuildTree: System.Exception:
Unknown entity 'UNKNOWN'

  • NPM 12.x

Bad data in the Dependencies database table.

  1. Back up your database.
  2. Open the Database Manager.
  3. Connect to the NPM database and query the Dependencies table
  4. Locate entries where Category is UNKNOWN or ParentEntityType is zero or negative.
  5. Delete the entries found in step 4.
  6. Reload the Manage Dependencies page.
