Overview

This article provides information about checking the nodes assigned to a Windows credential and showing all nodes that currently use WMI as the polling method.

Environment

NPM, all versions

Steps

1. Run the Database Manager. Click All Programs > Solarwinds Orion > Advanced Features > Database Manager.

2. Select the SolarWinds Orion database. Click Database Manager > Add default server > SolarWindsOrion.

3. List credential names.

a. Right-click SolarWindsOrion > Select New query.

b. Paste this query and execute the following:

SELECT TOP 1000 * FROM [dbo].[Credential]

c. Locate the credential name and make a note of the ID.

4. List all the nodes.

a. Run a new query.

b. Paste the following query and execute it:

Select * from [dbo].[Nodes]
join [dbo].[NodeSettings]
On Nodes.NodeId=NodeSettings.NodeId
where ObjectSubType = 'WMI'

This lists all nodes that currently use WMI as its polling method.

You can use the following query to identify node names (not just NodeID) based on the Credential name:

SELECT N.NodeID, Caption, C.Name, SettingName, SettingValue, NodeSettingID
FROM NodeSettings S
Join Nodes N on N.NodeID = S.NodeID
Join Credential C on Cast(C.ID as nvarchar(50)) = S.SettingValue
Where C.Name like '%solar%
