Licensed Additional Polling Engines and Additional Websites display "Evaluation" in the License Manager

Updated Sept 1, 2016

Overview

After you upgrade NPM, SAM, or other Orion Platform product to Orion Platform version 2016.2, the License Manager application on your Additional Polling Engine or Additional Website displays an evaluation license instead of a commercial license.

Environment

Products upgraded to Orion Platform version 2016.2 or later, which includes:

  • NPM 12.0.1
  • NCM 7.5
  • NTA 4.2.1
  • Patch Manager 2.1.3
  • SAM 6.3

Cause

Orion Platform version 2016.2 moved to a web-based license manager. Your main Orion server hosts all your license files. When you upgraded, your Additional Polling Engine and Additional Website licenses were migrated to your main Orion server. The old evaluation licenses were not migrated and are the only licenses the License Manager application can display.

This has no functional impact on your commercial license.

Resolution

Use the Web-based License Manager in the Orion Web Console to view and manage your commercial licenses.
