Last XX Events resource not working after upgrading to NPM 12

Updated June 16, 2017

Overview

The Last XX Events resource is no longer working after upgrading NPM 11.5.2 to NPM 12. The resource is stuck in LOADING... and returns the following error:

There was an error rendering: Last XX Events

Environment

NPM 12.0

Cause

This issue can occur when there is no time frame set in the ResourceProperties table for Last XX Events.
The following is an example from a resource that is working:

SELECT TOP 1000 * FROM [dbo].[ResourceProperties] where resourceid = 11112 or resourceid = 11113

Resolution

  1. Edit the event resource.
