This article addresses the issue where Job Scheduler crashes on a polling engine and the following error is found in the Job Engine V2 log file (C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\LogFiles\JobEngine.v2).
ERROR SolarWinds.JobEngine.Security.UsernamePasswordValidator - SUPPORT:
Invalid username or password.  Job Engine password files are out of sync.
Remove ucdat1.xml on this poller and run configuration wizard to resolve the issue

All NPM versions

Job Engine password files are out of sync.

  1. Stop all Orion services using the Orion Service Manager.
  2. Go to C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\JobEngine. (If Core 2017.3 [NPM 12.2] or later, use the following path: C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\JobEngine.v2)
  3. Move ucdat1.xml outside of the SolarWinds directory, such as your desktop.
  4. Run the configuration wizard.

If the issue is not resolved, SolarWinds recommends upgrading to NPM 12.1/SAM 6.4, which contains fixes for this issue.
