Interfaces report as UP even when a node is DOWN

Overview

Since upgrading to NPM 12, if a node goes down, SolarWinds still reports the interfaces as UP.
Nodes with issues are monitored with SNMP.

Environment

NPM v12.0

Detail

  • Known Bug in NPM v12.
  • This works in NPM 12 RC1, but is broken since NPM 12 RC2 as we reproduced this in RC2, 12 RC3, 12.1)

For example:
1. add some node with interfaces.
2. change the node IP (no response from node on ICMP ping and SNMP requests - the same as when device is down).

 

RESULT: Node is down, but interfaces keep the last polled status.
 

 

The issue has been fixed in NPM v12.0.1.
