Integrating CheckPoint SmartDashboard R77.30 with NPM

Table of contents

Updated July 30, 2018

Overview

This article provides information about configuring the CheckPoint SmartDashboard R77.30 syslog file so the syslog messages sent by the syslog file can be viewed from a SolarWinds server running NPM.

Environment

  • All NPM versions

Detail

SolarWinds does not provide documentation that describes how to configure and integrate a CheckPoint syslog file with a system hosting SolarWinds products.

A server cannot read a syslog file. However, you can configure applications and systems to send messages to multiple destinations (such as an Orion server IP address). In this scenario, make sure that the CheckPoint SmartDashboard sends the syslog information to the Orion server on port 514
