IFrame error after upgrading to NPM 11.5

After you upgrade to NPM 11.5 and then click an iFrame resource, the following error displays:

Page cannot be displayed


  • NPM 11.5 +
  • All EOC versions


Warning: SolarWinds strongly recommends that you only edit the web.config file as instructed. Any additional modifications may result in system performance issues or may create an error state. Save a copy of the original web.config file to your local drive as a backup file, in case you need to roll back later.

  1. Log in to an Orion Platform servers polled by EOC.
  2. Navigate to:
  3. Locate and open web.config using a text editor (such as Notepad).
  4. Remove the following lines:
    <add name="X-Same-Domain" value="1" />
    <add name="X-Content-Type-Options" value="nosniff" />
    <add name="X-Frame-Options" value="SAMEORIGIN" />
    <add name="X-XSS-Protection" value="1; mode=block" />
  5. Save the file.
  6. Repeat step 1 through step 5 for each additional Orion Platform polled by EOC. 

Recycle the SolarWinds Orion Appllication Pool

If the previous procedure does not resolve this issue, perform the following steps:

  1. Remote Desktop to the Orion Platform server.
  2. Open a Run box and execute:
  3. Expand the server in the left-hand pane.
  4. Click Application Pools.
  5. Select SolarWinds Orion Application Pool.
  6. Click Recycle.
