How to redirect the logout button to the summary page

Table of contents

Updated March 12, 2018

Overview

In some environments where single sign-on is enabled, disabling the the logout button is required as an added security measure to the web console. One approach to this requirement is to redirect the logout button back to the summary page.

Environment

  • NPM 12.2 and later

Steps

  1. Create a backup of Logout.aspx which is located by default in:
    C:\inetpub\SolarWinds\Orion
  2. Open the original Logout.aspx in a text editor and change the code to:

<%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" %>
<%@ Import Namespace="SolarWinds.Orion.Core.Common" %>
<%@ Import Namespace="SolarWinds.Orion.Core.Common.Indications" %>

<script runat="server">
    private void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
    {
        Response.Redirect("/Orion/SummaryView.aspx");
    }
</script>
