How to generate a report on SNMP community strings

This article describes how to generate a report on SNMP community strings in an NPM environment.


  • NPM 11.5.3 and newer


How to run Report Writer

  1. Open Report Writer on the Orion server
  2. Select New > Inventory.
  3. Enter a report title. 
  4. Click the Select Fields tab.
  5. Click Network Nodes > Node Details > SNMP community string.

How to open the new web-based reports 

  1. Click Reports > All Reports.
  2. In the All Reports view, click Manage Reports.
  3. In the Managed Reports view, click Create New Report. 
  4. Select Custom Table > Continue.
  5. Select Using Basic selector (all nodes are selected).
  6. Click Add to layout.
  7. Enter a report tile.
  8. Click Edit Table. 
  9. Add columns for Caption, IP address, Community, and any additional options.
  10. Preview and adjust the columns (if required).
