How to export unique data from the database using a custom property

Table of contents

Updated: October 26, 2017

Overview

This article discusses how to export node data based on a custom property. For example, you have a CustomerID property and want to export the historical polling data for all nodes with a Customer1 text value using this property.

Environment

  • All Orion NPM environments

Steps

Currently, you cannot export selected data from the database. You can export a list of nodes and then import that list into the new database. However, this would remove the historical data.

You can export the list of nodes and then import the nodes into the new database. Unfortunately, this would remove the historical data.

SolarWinds recommends creating a copy of the database, and then deleting the nodes you do not want to include in that environment.
