This article explains how to create an alert that triggers when the RAM on a node exceeds a certain percentage of use (such as 90%).

  • NPM 12 and higher

  1. Log in to the Orion Web Console.
  2. Click Settings > All Settings.
  3. Under Alerts and Reports, click Manage Alerts.
  4. Click Add New Alert.
  5. Complete the Properties window, and click Next.
  6. In the Trigger Condition page, complete the following steps:
    1. Click the I want to alert on drop-down menu and select Volume.
    2. Under The scope of alert, select All objects in my environment.
    3. Under the Actual trigger condition, click the drop-down menu and select All child conditions must be satisfied (AND).
    4. Create two child conditions:
      • Volume + Percent Used + Is greater than or equal to + 90%
      • Volume + Volume Type + Is equal to + RAM
    5. (Optional) Add other conditions if applicable.
For example, if you want to generate RAM depletion alerts for Windows nodes, add:
      Node + Vendor + Contains + Windows
    6. Click Next.
  7. Complete the wizard.
