High Availability feature not recognizing that both the primary and secondary ASAs are being polled

Updated December 15, 2017

Overview

High Availability is set up, and both ASA firewalls are already added as nodes. However, the failover status is not displayed correctly. It is just showing the pair as "add node as monitored".

Environment

  • NPM 12.2

Cause

Some interfaces of the ASA nodes are not enabled.

Resolution

  1. Try to run the command "show failover" on both ASA nodes, then take note of all the interfaces.
  2. On the Orion Web Console, choose Node Details > List Resources.
  3. Make sure those interfaces are enabled.
  4. Then do rediscovery on both and Poll Now.
  5. Wait for a while, refresh the page, and verify that the link shows properly.
