Filter and suppress alerts

Overview

This article describes how to configure an alert that is triggered when a node switches its status from Down to Up. 

Environment

All NPM versions

Steps

  1. Go to Trap Viewer > Alerts/Filter Rules.
  2. Either edit your existing syslog rule/alert or create a new alert.
  3. Enter the values based on the name of the node alert that needs to be filtered in the following tabs:
    • Message
    • Severity
    • Trigger Threshold
  4. Select the severity level.
  5. Specify the alert action under the Alert Actions tab.
