Overview

This article provides steps to filter AppStack Environment objects based on Groups and display the result on an AppStack Environment Resource.

Environment

NPM 12 and later

Steps

  1. Create a Group and add the preferred nodes on your AppStack Environment Resource.

  1. On your preferred View, go to Customize Page, and then add the AppStack Environment Resource.

  1. The AppStack Environment Resource shows categories without objects. To remove this, edit the resource and then select Hide categories containing no objects.
Note: You can edit the title of the resource to identify the layout you want to filter.

  1. Go to AppStack Environment to filter the preferred information.
Note: See Customize menu bars in SolarWinds NPM if this option is not available in the menu.

  1. To edit the layout of the AppStack Environment Resource that you added, go to Default Layout dropdown, and then select the resource.

  2. To filter the information per Group, click +Add Filter Properties and select the Group name from the selection.
  3. Select the group that you created and click Apply Filter.
After applying the filter, only the hosts and group that you created should show up on the AppStack Environment.
  4. Save the layout to make the filter appear on the AppStack Environment Resource.

The image below shows the result in your AppStack Environment Resource after performing this procedure.
