Error when editing the custom property values for a node

Updated May 18, 2018

Overview

When you edit the custom property values for a node and click Test, the Orion Web Console generates the following error:

SysWebFroms.PageRequestManagerServerErrorExceptionSys.WebForms.
PageRequestManagerServerErrorException: The MaximumValue property of
'RangeValidatorStatisticsPollInterval' cannot be converted to type 'Integer'

Environment

  • NPM 12.2 or earlier

Cause

The selected node is a VMware ESX® server polled by VMware vCenter®. When you click Test in Edit Nodes, the Orion Web Console generates an exception error because the selected node exists in the VIM_Hosts table and not the Nodes table.

Resolution

When you edit a node, click Test only for valid nodes. Do not click Test for VMware ESX nodes polled by VMware vCenter, which are not managed as a node in Orion NPM.
