Error: Object Not set to an instance of an object when modifying Netflow Interface Details page When adding resources to views

Updated April 6th, 2017

Overview

The following error occurs when adding resources from the View page of either Settings or Customize View:

Object Not set to an instance of an object when  modifying Netflow Interface Details page

Environment

All NPM versions

Cause

The error is caused by a corrupted WebResourceCache.xml file.

Resolution

  1. Delete the following file:
    \ProgramData\Solarwinds\Orion\WebResourceCache.xml
  2. Run iisreset via Command Line (CMD) as an administrator.
  3. Log back to the SolarWinds Web Console.
  4. Click View > Add Resources.

The corrupted file is now deleted and the error should no longer display.

Note: It will take a while to load the list of resources for the first time as cache needs to be recreated.
