Edit Properties button is disabled or grayed out

Updated June 19, 2017

Overview

The Edit Properties button is disabled or grayed when you select one or more nodes in the Manage Nodes page. As a result, you are unable to edit nodes in bulk.

Environment

Orion Platform 2016.2

Cause

This issue occurs when the ObjectSubType value in the NodesData table is set to ['snmp', 'icmp', 'wmi'] instead of ['SNMP', 'ICMP', 'WMI'] (in upper case).

Resolution

Note: Create a backup of your Orion database before performing the following steps.

  1. Go to Start > SolarWinds Orion > Advanced Features > Database Manager.

  2. Click Add Server (Add Default Server).

  3. Right-click on your SolarWindsOrion database and then select New Query.

  4. Execute the following query:

update [NodesData] set ObjectSubType='SNMP' where ObjectSubType='snmp'
update [NodesData] set ObjectSubType='WMI' where ObjectSubType='wmi'
update [NodesData] set ObjectSubType='ICMP' where ObjectSubType='icmp'
