Overview

This illustrates how to delete a row from a table in the Orion database by leveraging Database Manager. In this instance, there is an ESX host in Orion that is no longer in your environment. This happens when you remove the host from the environment without removing it first in Orion.

Environment

All Orion based products

Resolution

  1. From the Orion server, launch Database Manager (Start > All Programs > Solarwinds orion > Advanced features > Database Manager).
  2. Attach the Orion database and expand the VIM_Hosts table, (or any other table you would like to remove a row from)
  3. Execute the default SQL query and locate the row which contains the host.
  4. Enable Table editing from the top of Database Manager.
  5. Highlight the row in question. Right click and delete the selected row.
  6. Run the default query again and verify that the row has been deleted.
