Overview

The following error appears when running Configuration Wizard:

Database Configuration Failed - Could not allocate space for object

db1.png

Environment

  • All Orion versions
  • All SQL server Express versions

Cause

This is either caused by  a full hard drive or because you have reached the file size limit set by your SQL server admin.

Notes:

- You are limited to 10 GB if you are running SQL Express (SQL Server 2008 R2 Express and SQL Server Express 2012 +).

- You are limited to 4 GB if you are running SQL Express (SQL Server 2008 Express and lower).

Resolution

  • Free up some disk space, for example, by deleting old data such as syslog or traps.
  • Free up some disk space if there is no defined size limitation in your SQL Server.
