Custom property export to .XLS fails when Definition column is included

Table of contents

Issue:

Custom property export to .XLS fails when a Definition column is included.

Resolution

This is a known issue that may be corrected in a future release. The export fails due to a limitation on the number of characters that a spreadsheet cell may contain. The SolarWinds database allows a monitored object to have a defined Definition that contains more than the 32767-character limit imposed by Microsoft on Excel spreadsheet cells.

This article applies to all SolarWinds products using Orion Platform 2013.1 and higher
