Custom menu bar generates an HTTP 404 error

Updated April 27, 2017

Some custom menu bar items with HTTP links generate 404 errors after configuring HTTPS and upgrading from NPM 11.5 to 12.0.1.

NPM 12.0.1

This issue occurs when the URL section of the edit custom menu item is not correctly changed to HTTPS.

  1. Log in as administrator.
  2. Click My Dashboard > Configure.
  3. Identify the menu bar item that generates the error and click Edit.
  4. Set the URL field to HTTPS.
  5. Click Ok to save the changes.

To verify if the URL is valid, copy the URL address and paste it into a new browser tab and see if it still generates the error.
