Configuration wizard error when restoring to a previous database

Overview

When running the configuration wizard, the following error is displayed after restoring or reverting the database to a previous backup.

Please upgrade this Orion server to work properly with other servers which are running a new version already. If you are trying to revert to a previous version of Orion please re-configure all your servers to the pre-upgrade backup database.

All Orion Platform versions

Cause 

This occurs when there is a mismatch between the product versions installed on the server and the product versions that are associated with the database.

Resolution

 

  1. Open the Database Manager or the SQL Studio Manager.
  2. Open the Orion database.
  3. Go to the ConfigWizardlog table or use SELECT TOP 1000 * FROM [dbo].[ConfigWizardLog].
    1. Check the last date and time that the configuration wizard was run.
    2. Note the product and version listed.
  4. Install the same product listed in the log on the Orion server. 
    Note: An upgrade or installation of may be required to match the version of the product for the server to the database.
