Overview

When upgrading to NPM 11.5, the following Configuration Wizard error occurs:
Error while executing script- Foreign key 'FK_AlertActive_AlertObjects' references invalid column 'AlertObjectID' in referenced table 'dbo.AlertObjects'.
Could not create constraint. See previous errors.

Environment

NPM version 11.5 and earlier

Cause

The error is caused by created tables named AlertObjects in the past. New alerting (NPM 11.5 onwards) needs this table name reserved.

Resolution

Note: Create a full backup of your database before making any direct changes.

To resolve this error:

  1. Open SQL Management Studio.
  2. Locate AlerObject and delete it.
  3. Re-run the Configuration Wizard.
