Overview

This article describes how to change the Main Poller without the need to use SQL queries and modifying the database.

Environment

NPM 11.5.3 and earlier

Steps

Change the polling engine:

  1. Go to Settings > Manage Nodes > No grouping then click Select All.
  2. Click the red Select All button (*Number* Nodes).
  3. Click More Actions and then select Change Poller.

Once this is done:

  1. Go to Settings > Polling Engines.
  2. Verify if the nodes were assigned to the new poller.
  3. Remove the old Poller.

To test:

  1. Go to any WNMP/WMI node.
  2. Under Management, click Edit Node.
  3. Click Test.
  4. If the test fails, check the settings of the following to make sure that they are correct and that the nodes can be reached:
    ACL settings
    Credential settings
    Firewall settings
  5. Test the node again.
