Change F5 Big-IP memory polling to TMM level

Table of contents

Updated August 22, 2018

This article describes how to change the memory polling to TMM level. By default, F5 Big IP devices use the default native poller N.Memory.SNMP.F5BigIpDashboard.

  • All NPM versions
  • F5 Big-IP devices

  1. Open the Poller Checker Tool (C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\PollerCheckerTool.exe).
  2. Detect the pollers for the F5 device (memory):
    1. In the pane on the left, select the node on which you want to poll the TMM level.
    2. Select SNMP as the Polling Method.
    3. Select Memory in the middle pane, and click Detect Pollers. Make sure you have selected the correct node in the leftmost pane is selected.
  3. Change N.Memory.SNMP.F5BigIpDashboard to N.Memory.SNMP.F5BigIpSystemTmm. To do so, select the poller to use (N.Memory.SNMP.F5BigIpSystemTmm) in the pane on the right, click Add/Replace Pollers and confirm the message. When the poller is assigned to the node, it will be selected in the Assigned column.
  4. After the next poll, verify that the TMM level memory information displayed in the vital statistics is correct.
