Cannot add AD security group - Error: <no domain specified>

Overview

Unable to add AD security groups to NPM accounts with the following error:

Error: <no domain specified>.

Environment

NPM 10.6 and later

Cause 

This issue occurs when you are logged in as the local admin.

Resolution

  1. When adding an Active Directory security group to NPM you must have domain administrator rights.
  2. Once we logged in as the domain admin, you will be able to successfully add the Active Directory security group.
