Issue

The BusinessLayerHost crashed because the file is not registered.

Note: This KB article  is for anyone using SolarWinds on a closed network.

Environment

NPM v11.5

Cause

The BusinessLayerHost crashed with the following errors:
 
.net framework version -v4.0.30319
.net error - process terminated due to an unhandled exception. system.io.filenotfoundexception

Resolution

To resolve this problem, change the registry key to a valid setting, uncheck Check for publisher's certificate Revocation.

To do this, please go to the Microsoft Website regarding configuring an error message when you are trying to validate a copy of Windows - the cryptographic operation failed due to a local security option setting.
