Alert: Group member status is down on specific group

Overview

This article lists the steps to create an alert to trigger only when a member of a specific group is down.

Note: The name of the group is VM-Sub2.

Environment

NPM 12.0 or later

Steps

  1. Log in to the Orion Web Console using an account with administrator privileges.
  2. Click > Alerts & Activity > Alerts > Manage Alerts.
  3. In the Alert Manager Tab, click Add New Alert.
  4. Refer to the following for the trigger condition:


    The scope of alert: Only following set of objects (Show List)
    All objects where: All child conditions must be satisfied (AND)
    Group Member - Name (Group) - is equal to - VM-Sub2
    The action trigger condition: Trigger alert when: All child condition must be satisfied (AND)
    Group Member - Group Member Status - is equal to - Down
  5. Set your Trigger Actions. For example, Email.
  6. Save your changes and test accordingly.
