Adding a UDT port instead of an interface to a map results in the interface not showing utilization

Table of contents

Updated December 21, 2017

Overview

After you change the interface on your map, the interface doesn't show information about its utilization. This is caused by selecting a UDT port rather than an interface in Network Atlas.

Environment

  • NPM 12.x

Detail

If you change an interface on your dashboard, selecting a port in Network Atlas rather than selecting an interface, you will not receive data about interface utilization.

On the left hand side of Network Atlas, you will see ports and interfaces listed separately. Select the interface rather than the port that comes from UDT views.

To double check what the item on the map in Network Atlas is, right click on the item icon and select Properties. Then, click on details and see if it's an interface or port.

Below is an example of what a selected port shows:

Make sure you select an interface on the device rather than a UDT port.
