Active Directory group account logins not working after migrating server

After migrating to a new server (with a new IP address and hostname) and creating a new AD group account, pre-migration accounts are unable to log in.

The new Orion server was put in a high-level AD Domain, while the old server was in a subdomain. 


The AD group accounts that SolarWinds was configured with referenced Domain Local AD-groups. This combined with the change from a subdomain to its top domain, the application no longer could request information about the subdomain domain local groups from the top domain.


  1. Create identical Domain Local groups in the top domain.
  2. Recreate the Group Accounts in the Orion Web Console.
