The following error is displayed when navigating to certain pages in the Orion Web Console:

Keyset not found

The websiteerror.log file will also contain the following description:

Message: Keyset does not exist         
ErrorSite: mscorlib.RealProxy.HandleReturnMessage
ErrorType: System.Security.Cryptography.CryptographicException


  • All NPM versions
  • All Orion products


The private key permissions are insufficient to access the page.


  1.   Log into the affected SolarWinds Orion server.
  2.   Open "mmc" via the Windows search function.
  3.   Use Ctrl+M to Add/Remove Snap-in...
  4.   Add the "Certificates" plug-in.
  5.   Choose the "Computer account" radial button and click "Next".
  6.   Choose the "Local computer: (the computer this console is running on)" radial button and click "Next".
  7.   Click "OK"
  8.   Expand the folders to navigate to Console Root > Certificates (Local Computer) > Personal > Certificates.
  9.   Right-click on the "SolarWinds-Orion" certificate and choose "All Tasks > Manage Private Keys..."
  10.   Click "Add...:
  11.   Type "Everyone" in the "Enter the object names to select (examples): field" and press enter.
  12.   Ensure that the newly added "Everyone" account has Full Control and Read permissions set to "Allow"
  13.   Click "OK"
