Environment

All NPM versions

Cause

The node was already added to a different polling engine.

Resolution

  1. Login to Orion server.
  2. Go to Start > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Advanced and Features > Database Manager.
  3. Click Add Default Server. Expand the SolarWinds Database then right-click on it to create a New Query.
  4. Type the command below then press Execute Query:
SELECT sysname, ip_address, engineID FROM [dbo].[nodes]
    where ip_address = 'X.X.X.X'
  5. This command will display where the node is assigned to.
  6. If the node is not assigned to an existing polling ID, click Enable Table Editing to correct the assignment of the node then put the correct value for EngineID column.
  7. After executing these steps, the node can be added normally.
