Overview

The following error is displayed when installing a SolarWinds Orion product:
Error 1316. A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file Path\SSCERuntime-ENU.msi

Environment

All SolarWinds Platform products

Cause

This error occurs when any of the following SQL Server versions are already installed on your SolarWinds server:
Note: SolarWinds strongly recommends against installing SolarWinds Orion products and SQL Server on the same server.

  • Compact Edition 3.5 SP1 or SP2
  • SQL Server 2008
  • SQL Server 2008 R2

Resolution

This is a known issue that is addressed, with a resolution in Microsoft Support Article 970876.
