Increase Events Retention

Table of contents

Updated June 1st, 2016

Overview

This article provides information on how to increase the data retention for events in order to get data for historical reports (ex: Nodes Down for the past 12 months).

Environment

  • All versions of NPM
  • All versions of SAM

Steps

1. Log into the Orion Web Console with an Account with Admin Privileges

2. Click Settings > Thresholds & Polling > Polling Settings.
2. Look under Database Settings.
3. You can then change the Event Retention to the required value (ex: 365 days).

NOTE: Please note increasing this setting increases the size of your database. This can cause performance issues so please monitor carefully.
