Overview

Unable to ping a node via the Orion server and the Orion Map shows that the node status is down when the device is reachable via PuTTy.

Environment

NPM 10.6 and later

Cause

The node is not reachable via Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP).

Resolution

1. On the Orion Web console, open the affected node and click List Resources.
2. On the Status & response time Radio button, select ICMP (ping) - Fastest.
3. Click Submit. The Orion Map should now show the correct status of the node.
