Overview

This article provides brief information and steps to resolve the issue when there is high CPU utilization on Juniper MX240.

Environment

NPM version 11.0 and later

Cause 

Routing table polling causes high CPU utilization on the node.

Large Routing table needs more CPU Cycle to process therefore the device shows high CPU utilization.

Resolution

  1. List resources.
  2. Disable (Uncheck) all routing L2/L3 polling for this node.
