Overview

This article addresses the issue where there are frequent requests to Google coming from the Orion server.

Environment

All Orion Core versions

Cause

This can occur when WPM transaction monitors are set against Google, or when the DNS on the Orion server is directed to Google's DNS servers (If there are a lot of requests to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 then this can be DNS Settings).

Resolution

WPM Transactions

  1. Log in to the Orion Web Console.
  2. Go to Settings > WPM Settings > Manage Transaction Monitors.
  3. Un-manage all Google Transaction Monitors.

DNS

  1. RDP to the Orion Server.
  2. Run  ncpa.cpl
  3. Right-click the Interface and select Properties.
  4. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).
  5. Verify the DNS Settings under Properties. If it set to Obtain DNS server address automatically, contact your Network Administrator to verify the settings.
