Announcing NCM 7.7
With NCM 7.7, you can examine the rules that make up an access control list for a Cisco ASA device. Then you can apply filters to display only rules that meet the specified criteria, order the rules by line number or by the hit count, and much more.

Fix routing table resources with incomplete data

Overview

Polling routing tables results in SNMP time out or failed queries for other types of network objects such as nodes and interfaces and display the following error:

This device's routing table has more entries than can be displayed in the table below.

The data below is incomplete.

routing table.PNG

Environment

NPM 10.5 and later

Cause

Routing monitoring in NPM is limited because polling large routing tables affects polling performance for other monitored network objects:

  • Data polled from VRF routing tables is limited to the first 200 entries
  • Data polled from non-VRF routing tables is limited to the first 1000 entries

Resolution

Warning: Raising polling limits excessively may result in SNMP time outs and failed queries for other network object types, including nodes and interfaces.
Note: Running the Configuration Wizard after completing the edit in this procedure will restore default values.

  1. Log on as an administrator to your SolarWinds polling engine (primary or additional, as required).
  2. In a text editor, open SolarWinds.NPM.Pollers.dll.config
    Note: The default location of SolarWinds.NPM.Pollers.dll.config is C:\Program Files(x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\NPM\
  3. If you want to edit the VRF routing table limit:
    1. Locate the following line:
      <add key="MaxVrfRoutingTableRows" value="200"/>
    2. Edit value to the maximum number of VRF routing table entries you want NPM to poll.
  4. If you want to edit the non-VRF routing table limit:
    1. Locate the following line:
      <add key="MaxRoutingTableRows" value="1000"/>
    2. Edit value to the maximum number of non-VRF routing table entries you want NPM to poll.
  5. Save SolarWinds.NPM.Poller.dll.config
  6. Restart the Orion services using the Orion service manager.
