Overview

This article provides steps to check duplicate IP addresses in NodesData table in the NPM database.

Environment

NPM version 12

Steps

1. Click Start >Programs > Solarwinds Orion >Advanced Features > Database Manager.

2. Expand Orion Database.

3. Right click Nodes >Query Table, and then select Read-write(results can be edited) Find Duplicate Entries of the same Node.

a. Find duplicate IP Addresses in your nodesdata table:

SELECT *
FROM Nodesdata
WHERE IP_Address IN (SELECT IP_Address
FROM Nodesdata
GROUP BY IP_Address
HAVING COUNT(*) > 1)

b. Find 'bad' Ip addresses in the NodesData table:
Note: this will pick up some "Unknown" entries as well. This is normal when assigned to DHCP nodes.

select NodeID, IP_Address, Caption
From Nodesdata
Where IP_Address not like '%.%.%.%' or IP_Address like '%.%.%.%.%'
