False reboot alerts or Wrong Uptime information is shown

Overview

This article provides information why a false node reboot alert occurs or why shows wrong Uptime information.

Environment

NPM version 11.5.3 and higher

Detail

The node reboot alert is based on the information sent from the SNMP Agent on your device. A node reboot alert is created whenever this service is restarted and this can sometimes lead to false alerts because the Agent can crash or be rebooted for various reasons causing a Node Reboot alert in Orion Web Console.

Customers have listed this issue on Thwack and are trying to ask for a change in node reboot functionality.

To try and push the change through you can vote on a Thwack post which is linked here.

Note: If you are having an issue with node reboot alert being delayed check the post here.
