WebinarUpcoming Webinar: Know What’s Changed – with NEW Server Configuration Monitor

Change management in IT is critical. But, even with a good change management process, changes are too often not correctly tracked, if at all. The configuration of your servers and applications is a key factor in their performance, availability, and security. Many incidents can be tracked back to an authorized (and sometimes unauthorized) configuration change, whether to a system file, configuration file, or Windows® Registry entry. Join SolarWinds VP of product management Brandon Shopp to discover how the new SolarWinds® Server Configuration Monitor is designed to help you.

Overview

This article addresses the following Web page error:

SolarWinds.Orion.Core.Common.InformationServiceConnectionProvider - Connection via certificate could not be created.
System.ServiceModel.EndpointNotFoundException: There was no endpoint listening at net.tcp://cibldnlnpmvp002:17777/SolarWinds/InformationService/v3/Orion/certificate that could accept the message. This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP action. See InnerException, if present, for more details.

The following error also appears in the BusinessLayerHost file:

2016-04-29 14:14:58,903 [Scheduler] ERROR SolarWinds.BusinessLayerHost.PluginInstanceSeparateProcess - Instance D:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\AgentManagement\SolarWinds.AgentManagement.ServiceCore.dll.config - ProcessID:1988 doesn't exists anymore
2016-04-29 14:14:58,904 [Scheduler] ERROR SolarWinds.Common.Utility.ScheduledTask - CheckPlugins threw an exception.
System.InvalidOperationException: Instance D:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\AgentManagement\SolarWinds.AgentManagement.ServiceCore.dll.config - ProcessID:1988 doesn't exists anymore
2016-04-29 14:14:58,904 [6] ERROR SolarWinds.BusinessLayerHost.BusinessLayerHostService - Unhandled exception caught by business layer host. System.InvalidOperationException: Instance D:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\AgentManagement\SolarWinds.AgentManagement.ServiceCore.dll.config - ProcessID:1988 doesn't exists anymore

Environment

NPM 11.5.3

Cause

The VC++ 2012 re-distributable package is not installed properly because the package installation is blocked by an Antivirus software. This causes the Agent Management Business Layer plugin to crash during startup as it fails to load the SolarWinds.AMS.Proxy.dll.

Resolution

  1. Log in to the Orion server as a Local Administrator.
  2. Check if all Visual C++ packages are installed in pairs (Both x86 and x64).
  3. Install the latest VC++ 2013 re-distributable (x86 or x64). Refer to Microsoft for the installation steps.
  4. Restart Orion Services after installation is complete.
