Error: There was no endpoint listening at net.tcp://localhost:17777/SolarWinds/InformationService/Orion/ssl that could accept the message. This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP action. See InnerException, if present, for more details.

Cause

This error may be the result of either of the following conditions:

  • You have created a custom property that has the same name as a reserved property.
For more information, see KB 4135 - What words are reserved from use in custom properties?
  • Corrupted performance counters.
To determine if this is the case, submit a technical support ticket and provide SolarWinds Diagnostics.
Also, please refer to Microsoft's KB: How to manually rebuild Performance Counter Library values.
  • An incomplete or improper installation of the SolarWinds Information Service. This error is usually corrected with a manual reinstallation of the SolarWinds Information Service, as shown in the following procedure.

To manually reinstall the SolarWinds Information Service:

Part 1.
If you are using Windows Server 2008:

  1. Click Start > Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a program.
  2. Click SolarWinds Information Service, and then click Uninstall.
  3. Click Yes to confirm removal.
  4. Browse to Volume:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\Installers\, and then execute InformationService.msi.
If you are NOT using Windows Server 2008:
  1. Click Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs.
  2. Click SolarWinds Information Service, and then click Remove.
  3. Click Yes to confirm removal.
  4. Browse to Volume:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SolarWinds\Installers\, and then execute InformationService.msi.

Part 2
  1. Click Next on the Welcome window of the SolarWinds Information Service Setup wizard.
  2. Accept the terms of the license agreement, and then click Next.
  3. Click Typical, and then click Install to begin installation.
  4. Click Finish to complete the wizard.
