Error starting Service messages when running Configuration Wizard

The following error occurs when completing the Orion Configuration Wizard:

Website configuration failed:

    • Connection to SolarWinds information Service did not succeed.
      Last error: There was no endpoint listening at net.tcp//orion:17777/SolarWinds/InformationOrion/certificate that could accept the message.
      This is often caused by an by an incorrect address or SOAP action.

Services configuration failed:

    • Error starting Service [SWInfoServiceSvc], Cannot start service SWInfoServiceSvc on computer'.'.
    • Error starting Service [SWInfoServiceSvcV3], Cannot start service SWInfoServiceSvcV3 on computer'.'.
    • Error starting Service [SWCollectorPollingControllerSvc], Cannot start service SWCollectorPollingControllerSvc on computer'.'.
    • Error starting Service [SWCollectorDataProcessorSvc], Cannot start service SWCollectorDataProcessorSvc on computer'.'


NPM 11.5.3 and earlier


The LogDataCreated value is equal to 1.


To resolve this:

  1. Stop Message Queuing service.
  2. Click Start > Run then type regedit.
  3. Under the Registry Editor window, go to HKLM/Software/Microsoft/MSQM/Parameter and change the value of LogDataCreated from "1" to "0".
  4. Under C:\Windows\System32\msmq\storage directory, delete all MSMQ logs (with extension .mq files only).
  5. Execute Configuration Wizard by going to Start > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Configuration and Auto-Discovery.
  6. Start Message Queuing service.
  7. All service should be started when you go to Start > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Advanced Features > Orion Service Manager.
