Overview

This article provides step by step guide in resolving errors related to launching or logging into Network Atlas on your Additional Polling Engine or Additional Workstation.

Related Errors:

An unexpected error occurred while trying to connect to the server. Please contact support.

 

From NetworkAtlas.log:

ERROR Solarwinds.InformationService.Contract2.InfoServiceProxy - an error occured opening a connection to the orion communication service.

Environment

All Orion Core Versions

 

Cause

Version Installed on APE or Additional Workstation does not match the one installed on the Primary Polling Engine

Steps

1. Check Network Atlas Version on Primary Polling Engine

    Example Versions: 1.12.0.1007, 1.8.330.1 etc.

 Note: Version used on both machines should match.

2a. Copy Network Atlas MSI installer to APE or Additional Workstation

  • C:\ProgramData\Solarwinds\Installers

2b. Download Network Atlas from the Orion Web Console or Customer Portal

  • If you edit a current map on any view and enable Show Network Atlas Download link
  • Login and Download Network Atlas from Customer Portal

3. Uninstall incompatible version of Network Atlas

4. Install compatible version of Network Atlas
