Overview

The following error is received in the Configuration Wizard:

Database configuration failed:

The current user had not been assigned a valid default database. Use SQL server Management Tools to create new database, and then assign it as the default database for the current user.

Environment

NPM 11 and later

Cause

A valid database is not available. It has either been deleted from the SQL server or migrated to another SQL server.

Resolution

  1. Open SQL Studio.
  2. Locate the Orion Database user you are using within the Configuration Wizard.
  3. Click Properties.
  4. Select the Orion database in the Default database field and then click OK.
  5. Run the Orion Configuration Wizard once again.
