Error: Please specify a complete Trigger Condition. Field not specified or invalid

Updated May 15, 2017

Overview

This article provides information on the following error when the trigger conditions used are not based on the type of property to monitor:

Please specify a complete Trigger Condition

Field not specified or invalid

For example, you cannot use the Transmit Percent Utilization trigger condition for the Routing Neighbors as a Type of Property to Monitor.

The Routing Neighbors is used for conditions to trigger if the Routing Neighbor status is down or missing. The same goes when the Type of Property to Monitor is an Interface. You cannot use the condition on protocol ID or any condition pertaining to Routing Neighbors.

Environment

NPM 11.0.x and earlier where Advanced Alerting is set through an application (not web-based)

Cause

If the trigger conditions used already exist from the current Type of Property to Monitor, changing it to another Type of Property to Monitor will lead to the issue or error.

Resolution

Use only the available options from the Type of Property to Monitor field.
