Overview

This error can occur in many different sections of Orion core, its modules and Configuration Wizard. The following error message appears: 

ConfigurationProgressScene - Exception while configuring plugins.

System.IO.IOException: The process cannot access the file 'C:\InetPub\SolarWinds28\bin\wurfl.xml.gz'

Environment

  • All versions of Orion core and modules
  • WIndows Server 2003+
  • Installed Anti Virus applications

 

Cause 

This error occurs when one of the following files is being used in another directory or the following programs are affecting the files: 

  • Antivirus is currently scanning or has quaranteened the item(s).
  • App pool\website\service is currently running.
  • A different App pool\website is pointing to the same directory or files.
  • A tool\app is open and currently utilizing the directory or files.

Resolution

  1. Shutdown any antivirus applications on the server.
  2. Set exclusions for the SolarWinds directories as outlined here: https://solarwinds-prod.mindtouch.us...virus_settings.
  3. Stop any app pools or websites that may be pointing to the same directory or files.
  4. Shutdown any tools, applications or services that may have a connection to the director or files
