Enabled "Allow Browser Integration" but tools do not work

This article describes the issue when you enable Allow Browser Integration for Toolset, but the RDP tool still does not work, meaning the CONNECT button does not light up.



NPM version 11.x, NPM version 12.x, Internet Explorer 8, Internet Explorer 9


This issue occurs when the browser looks for  CLSID:9059f30f-4eb1-4bd2-9fdc-36f43a218f4a and when it does not exist or if that CLSID is not ready, then it disables the button inside the browser


The RDP function is functional only for Internet Explorer versions 9 and below.


-Ensure that you have a supported IE browser.

-From within the browser select Tools > Internet Options

-If necessary, select Custom Level, and make sure the ActiveX settings are as follows:

                Allow previously unused ActiveX controls to run without prompting: Enable

                Allow Scriptlets: Enable

                Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls: Enable

                Binary and script behaviors: Enable

                Download signed ActiveX controls: Prompt

                Download unsigned ActiveX controls: Disable

                Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe for scripting: Disable

                Only allow approved domains to use ActiveX without prompt: Disable

                Run ActiveX controls and plugins: Enable

                Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting*: Enable

- Close and reopen the current browser window


How to Activate Toolset integration with the Orion Web Console:

  • Open the Orion console
  • Settings
  • Account management
  • Highlight your account and then choose edit
  • Scroll down until you see 'Allow browser integration' and set to 'Yes'.
